Frequently Asked Questions
Who am I?
I am an English Teacher with over 15 years of experience. I started creating materials in the summer of 2021.

Why is your website called "Handy English"?
Learning English should not be one of the chores or errands. A new language is a tool which should be used not just studied. I always try to combine learning the language with everyday life, which can get you closer to your goal, not just a better grade at school.

What is Handy English?
Handy English Project is my creative outlet and the name of my company.

How many people work @Handy English?
It started as a one-person project and it keeps being one! Handy English is a project I needed to clear my head from all of the ideas that used to bounce around my brain, but it became so much more than that!
Having said that, it still is and probably will stay a one-teacher-show for some time.

How do you decide what materials to create?
I create what I need. I never make anything I will not use in my lessons. I see it as counter-productive, as it would require too much time and money to research something I don't know.
However, if you need anything specific you are very welcome to contact me - maybe we need the same thing :)

Why do you charge for your materials?
Each product takes me around 3 days to create (that's without the brainstorming), I invest a lot of time and money to provide my and, hopefully, your students with the best quality possible. That includes the content, commercial clipart, and multiple subscriptions to portals such as Canva PRO, Creative Fabrica, e-book database, website hosting, and even Midjourney PRO. Moreover, when I create my materials I can't teach which is my main source of income.

Do you (or will you) have a subscription?
I am not a fan of subscriptions since I believe them to be a little manipulative and overwhelming. I prefer to charge per product to ensure you pay for what you need. I might consider a subscription later on, but for now, there are no plans to create one.

Do you have sales?
Of course! I run sales regularly, follow me on my Instagram for the Handy English news!
If you are looking for a deal, I also recommend checking out my bundles as they are usually 20-25% cheaper than buying the products separately.
Where can I buy your materials?
I have a shop on TpT (formerly: Teachers Pay Teachers) but I am thinking of opening my own store soon as well, so you could buy my materials directly from my website. Do you think it's a good idea?

Can I use your materials in my classroom?
Of course! That's what they are for!

Can I use your materials commercially?
If by commercially, you mean "using them in your classroom to earn money" - absolutely!
You are NOT in any way allowed to sell any part of my materials as your own, and/or remove my logo.

I am a student - can I buy your materials for self-study?
Sure, but I don't recommend it unless it is a product specifically designed for this purpose. My materials are made mostly for teachers who can guide you through the process of learning and choose which activities are the best for you.

What kind of materials do you usually create?
As mentioned before, I make what I need.
As I believe learning a language should feel natural I veer into communicative materials and functional language. That includes speaking, grammar, exercises, assignments and listening activities.
I also love using imagination in the classroom so a lot of activities, especially for younger learners of English, are creative.
